Our Mission at the Sheridan County Board of Realtors ® (SCBOR)
To provide members with the education and resources that will enable them to conduct business successfully and professionally; to promote and endorse the REALTOR® Code of Ethics; to be the leading advocate of real estate industry, private property rights, home ownership, and the issues that most affect the Associations’ members; and to enhance a positive REALTOR® image throughout our community, ensuring that the REALTOR® remains foremost to the real estate transaction.
What is a REALTOR®?
All real estate licensees are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® are properly called REALTORS®. They proudly display the REALTOR “®” logo on the business card or other marketing and sales literature. The term “REALTOR®” is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and abides by its strict Code of Ethics.

Board office hours: M-F 8 a.m. – Noon.
NAR’s Code of Ethics, adopted in 1913, was one of the first codifications of ethical duties adopted by any business group. The Code ensures that consumers are served by requiring REALTORS® to cooperate with each other in furthering clients’ best interests.
Note: On November 13, 2020, NAR’s Board of Directors added Standard of Practice 10-5 to the Code of Ethics, and adopted Professional Standard #29, both of which are effective immediately. For details on all the changes adopted, visit Code of Ethics & Professional Standards Policies.
